The East Campus Library organizes Research Methodology Series - 1 for all our PG students to gain knowledge on research. The main aim of the program is to focus on how to write a good dissertation/research report.


Purpose:


  • To explain the nature and purpose of the dissertation
  • To develop the student's ability to manage the dissertation
  • To develop the student’s ability to apply appropriate research techniques for their dissertation

  • Introduction to Style Guides—MLA/APA

  • Reference management tools for research

  • Madeley/Zotero reference manager - installation & workflow {practical session, requires laptop}
  • 10-11-2022
  • Mendeley/Zotero integration with Google Doc

  • Creating In-text Citations, reference list & bibliographies
  • 11-11-2022 (8 AM - 3 PM)
  • Data Analysis through SPSS


  • Learning Outcomes:


    After this program, students should be able to:


    • Understand the dissertation/project report process and apply a range of research methods in their work.
    • Critically evaluate pertinent academic literature and develop an appropriate research plan.
    • Demonstrate how reliable knowledge and theory of various research methods and tools inform independent research practices

    NB: This is compulsory for all PG students. There will be a second series for all III Year Bachelor’s students after this one.
